About Us

Welcome to Sunny Side Up Nutrition!

Anna and Elizabeth making a salad

We are two moms who are also Registered Dietitians and child-feeding experts. We are passionate about keeping diet culture out of parenting and supporting other parents to make food simple and stress-free.

We met in graduate school at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health in 2000 and have been friends ever since. Elizabeth is a former professional baker who also loves to cook. She writes about cooking and diet-free parenting. Anna does not love to cook, but she's passionate about family meals, nutrition, and opting out of the diet and weight loss culture.

As dietitians with over 20 years of experience each, we share with you our clinical experience and expertise working with thousands of families with their own feeding struggles, as well as our own experience raising children.

Elizabeth P. Davenport, MPH, RD, LD
Hi! I'm Elizabeth. Prior to heading off to graduate school to become a dietitian, I cooked and baked professionally for nearly a decade. I now consider myself a home cook who loves sharing recipes and cooking tips to simplify cooking for family, friends, clients, and you. I currently co-own a thriving private practice in the Washington, DC metro area where I treat individuals with eating disorders and families seeking support in feeding their children. Read more about me here.

Anna M. Lutz, MPH, RD, LDN, CEDS-S
I'm Anna! I am passionate about helping families foster positive relationships with food and bodies. I live in Raleigh, NC and also co-own a thriving private practice (much like Elizabeth’s!), where I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and pediatric nutrition. I am the mom of 3 very different eaters.  I don’t love to cook, like Elizabeth does, but I do believe in the importance of family meals and simple home cooking. Read more about me here.
